A week before the Oscars is set to take place; one of the nominees in the animation category has bagged an award at the 51st Cinema Audio Society (CAS) Awards.
The Walt Disney Animation Studio Oscar nominee Big Hero 6 was awarded ‘Outstanding achievement in sound mixing for a motion picture – animated’ at the event. The sound mixing team included original dialogue mixer and re-recording mixer Gabriel Guy, re-recording mixer David E Fluhr, scoring mixer Alan Meyerson and foley mixer Mary Jo Lang.
The event that took place at Millennium Biltmore in Los Angeles saw other awards being given away as well. Birdman took ‘Outstanding sound mixing motion picture – live action’. Television movie or miniseries honour went to Sherlock: His Last Vow, TV series- one hour was taken by Game of Thrones: The Children, TV series – half hour went to Modern Family: Australia, Television non-fiction, variety or music series or specials went to Foo Fighters Sonic Highways: Los Angeles.
