Bhooshan’s Junior bets on grandma-led IP ‘The Action G.A.N.G’ as it eyes global kids’ entertainment stage

Cochin based kids’ entertainment company Bhooshan’s Junior is expanding its slate of original intellectual properties and international tie-up, with a new animated show and a celebrity licensing deal at the centre of its global ambitions.

The studio’s latest original animated title, The Action G.A.N.G – Grandma & Next Gen, is now in the final stage of pre-production. The idea dates back to 2016, close to a decade before Bhooshan’s Junior itself was formed, and has passed through several rounds of character work, visual development and story refinement with different creative teams.

The first teaser of The Action G.A.N.G- Grandma & Next Gen is scheduled for 29 August 2026 in Mumbai. The show centres on an iconic grandmother and a new generation of young heroes, and is being positioned as an Indian-rooted universe with a narrative built for audiences everywhere.

Bhooshan’s Junior founder and CEO Sarath Bhooshan called the project a meaningful milestone for the company, noting it had evolved from a 2016 concept through nearly a decade of development, character exploration and storytelling refinement. He added that even animation technology, platforms and production methods keep changing, strong storytelling, memorable characters and world-building remain central to building successful IP.

The company is also taking its preschool title Adventures of Louie & Douie abroad through a co-production deal with Animae Caribe House in Trinidad and Tobago to develop a new season, part of a wider strategy of pairing with international partners to carry Indian-origin kids’ IP into global markets.

Separately, Bhooshan’s Junior’s tie-up with Jojo Siwa Entertainment marks its first international celebrity IP collaboration. Jojo Siwa has built a strong connection with children and families worldwide and has driven more than US$2.8 billion in retail sales through licensing and merchandising. The two companies are now working towards a new phase of the Jojo Siwa Entertainment universe, covering animated content, digital experiences, licensing, merchandising and consumer products.

Elsewhere in the portfolio, Meawoo – The Curious Kitten adds to the studio’s preschool slate through international collaboration, while Locomo – Raceverse explores a hybrid entertainment universe combining animation and technology.

With its expanding  original IP slate, co-production deals and celebrity partnership, Bhooshan’s Junior says it is looking deepen ties with international studios, co-production partners, broadcasters, OOT platforms, distributors, and investors, and licensing and consumer- product companies, as it works towards its long-term goal of building globally scalable kids’ entertainment franchises out of India.
