Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Air is cleared for take-off. Krafton India has set 10 December 2026 as the launch date for its lighter mobile gaming experience, which has already crossed 14 million pre-registrations on Google Play, even before its release date was announced.
But players will not have to wait until December to get their hands on it. The company will run closed beta testing from 20 to 24 November across Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, giving selected players an early shot at the game. Their feedback will help fine-tune the experience ahead of launch.
Getting into the beta calls for a little self-promotion. Players must post a video explaining why they should be among the first to play BGMI Air, tag the official handle and submit the form linked in the bios of BGMI Air and BGMI’s official Instagram account. Selected applicants will earn a place in the closed beta.
Designed as a lighter version of BGMI, the new game requires an initial download of around one gigabyte. It aims to bring the core gameplay to players whose devices or storage capacity have kept the full BGMI experience out of reach.
BGMI Air will run as a separate app, but existing BGMI players can jump in without transferring their accounts. That means a lighter download without leaving the familiar battleground behind.
Krafton India will share further pre-launch details and rewards through BGMI Air’s official social media channels. With 14 million registrations already in the bag, the countdown to launch has begun and the battle for a place in the beta is on.
