BenQ PD3225U review: With the revolutionary IPS Black technology, the monitor offers stunning contrasts and colour precision

Leading PC brand BenQ has launched its most premium quality of monitors for graphic designers – the PD3225U. This latest 31.5-inch model features IPS Black technology, M-book mode, P3 Colour Space, Thunderbolt 3 Connectivity, Pantone & Pantone SkinTone Validation, Uniformity Technology, HDR Technology and a handy display assistant.

The PD3225U is equipped with the IPS Black technology and 2000:1 contrast ratio – and delivers as promised. It provides deeper and actual blacks, enhancing the contrast and heightening the visuals. Its 35 per cent deeper black compared to IPS technology, enables better clarity and accuracy, proving a boon for photo editors, video editors, graphic designers and other creative professionals.

Priced at Rs 99,990, the monitor comes with a 3840×2160 resolution, 60 Hz refresh rate, 140 PPI and 1.07 billion colours. It comes with multiple colour modes – Animation, B+W, CAD/CAM, Darkroom, DCI-P3, DICOM, Display P3, HDR, Low Blue Light, M-Book, Rec.709, sRGB, User.

The fine-tuned M-book colour mode in the monitor minimises the visual difference between Mac and the PD3225U. This feature precisely matches the colour of a Mac in dual-monitor use i.e. when your PC is connected to, and working with an external Mac. For Mac users, the monitor comes with default colour settings that perfectly match Mac and MacBook Pro laptop colors. The exclusive M-Book mode actively syncs colors, providing an extra layer of precision.

With the ICCsync feature in Display Pilot 2 software, ICC profiles are automatically matched and synchronised when changing colour modes, ensuring consistency between your Mac and the BenQ monitor. And best of all, it’s all done instantly, so you can focus on your work without any hassle.

The BenQ PD3225U monitor is perfect for designers who need accurate and vibrant colors. Additionally, the BenQ PD3225U features Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, allowing for lightning-fast data transfer and the ability to daisy-chain multiple devices. This ensures seamless connectivity and maximises productivity for designers working with high-resolution content.

The monitor comes equipped with various ports including USB-C for Thunderbolt 3, HDMI, DisplayPort, and a USB hub. This allows you to connect different devices such as the Hotkey Puck G2, headphones, and external storage easily, enhancing your productivity.

With the built-in KVM switch feature, the PD3225U enables users to control two systems using just one keyboard and mouse. Simply click to switch between systems via the Hotkey Puck G2, making your workflow more efficient.

BenQ PD models ship from the factory with default color settings that perfectly match Mac® and MacBook® Pro laptop colors and BenQ exclusive M-Book mode on the PD3220U provides active color syncing between Macs and the monitor while you work.

The PD3225U comes with the enticing tilt, swivel and pivot controls, allowing greater flexibility when designers wish to showcase their work.

Apart from that, this model retains multiple features of the BenqQ PD2705UA – a range of connectivity options, flicker-free screen, matte anti-glare screen, eye-care technology and a feature-laden Hotkey Puck.

All in all, the monitor is packed with an impressive array of features and delivers excellent visual quality. While the monitor offers distinct features, what takes the cake is its IPS Black technology that brings stunning colours to life on screen. The PD3225U sets a benchmark in precision, making it a must-have if you are a creative professional.
