Ubisoft is offering Ancient Egyptian adventure for PC players this weekend, courtesy of its three-day-long Assassin’s Creed Origins free play event starting from 19 June.
It is the first RPG-styled Assassin’s Creed game that takes place in ancient Egypt, chronicling the life of Bayek of Siwa around the time when he initiates the founding of the Assassin Brotherhood. The game went on to receive three major DLC expansions before the release of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at the end of 2018. To take part in this upcoming free-to-play weekend, players can preload the game now through Uplay. You will be hopping around the Pyramids of Giza whilst simultaneously fighting off a Roman invasion. There are many things to like about this game but the historical backdrop is hard to top. You will be brushing shoulders with some of history’s greatest figures.
The free trial weekend system is one that has served other games such as Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare well in the past. In fact, this is not the first time Ubisoft has put its games out there to try, as there was previously a free trial weekend for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey held in March. You will be able to start the preload of Origins before the promotion kicks off on June 19th. However, the fun will get cut off on the 21st.
Assassin’s Creed appears to have a very bright future ahead of it considering the excitement and hype that is surrounding Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. Thanks to how the lore of the series is set up, there are nearly endless locations and time periods in which an Assassin’s Creed game can take place.
