Housing DC’s superheroes, Arrow and The Flash, CW recently released a teaser clip of an epic brawl amongst its super vigilantes ,heroes and baddies in what looks Like a Badass ‘no rules’ Fight Club.
The video begins with Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) introducing the Flash (Grant Gustin) to an underground basement of his former Queen Consolidated, where the metal-triangular caged ring awaits them to the superheroes’ Fight Club.
In brilliantly choreographed fight sequences, we see Canary and Arsenal kicking butt in their leather outfits. The host – Arrow – taking on his current season’s nemesis Ra’s Al Ghul in a ninja- trained fist fight. But eventually they both do show off their mixed martial arts skills. Our fan favourite Scarlet Speedster, The Flash zooms across the ring in a blur while Captain Cold and his Sidekick unleash their super-cool guns. In the final sequence we also get a dose of the most popular antagonist Reverse Flash, out-speeding our hero and making him taste dust.
While this promo only sets the stage for the finales episodes of The Flash ( season 1) and Arrow ( season 3) , it also confirms the earlier update of another crossover between the two shows where The Flash would need Arrow’s acute skills to defeat the Reverse Flash. The promo also features Firestorm bombing the Fight Club ring in his signature fiery blaze. CW’s been credited to bring out some really convincing VFX to their shows making these folks look superb. From Captain Cole’s icy gun firing at the lighting speedster, Flash to really convincing ninja fights in the Arrow, the visual effects and the superhero costumes have brilliantly been catered to.
Of course CW couldn’t resist showing off the Atom’s brillant robotic suit and so we see the beaming Brandon Routh break an entry into the basement of the Fight Club. But sadly too late for Mr. Atom as the baddies already make their Badass exit with Captain Cold’s cold shoulder to the heroes stating..”if it weren’t for us..you guys would be out of business.” Now how cool is that!! This only hints at the edgy chemistry that exists between the good and bad guys. Heath Ledger’s Joker did send shivers down our spine when he cackled to the Darknight…”You complete me….!” in Christopher Nolan’s Darknight franchise.
