Granblue Fantasy, the smartphone game, is being adapted into an anime television series titled Granblue Fantasy the Animation. Cygames, the game developer, recently announced and launched the anime’s trailer during its Cygames Next 2016 event in Tokyo.
The video features Yuuki Ito as director, Toshifumi Akai as character designer while Nobuo Uematsu and Tsutomu Narita as composers. A-1 Pictures will serve as the production company.
Also, the successful mobile game Granblue Fantasy is getting an action role-playing game upgrade. It is called Granblue Fantasy Project Re:LINK, the game’s development is being handled by Platinum Games but the direction is being executed by Cygames.
Granblue Fantasy was released by Cygames in March 2014. It is a role-playing video game with turn-based battles where the characters gain levels and abilities by accruing experience. Summons and weapons equipped also confer characters with bonuses on attack power and HP. The character designer Hideo Minaba of the game has also worked on Final Fantasy VI (1994) and Final Fantasy IX (2000).
Granblue Fantasy the Animation, the TV series will premiere in January 2017.
