French filmmaker Régis Raffin’s animated film, titled Heroes in Lockdown, is made by a small team from their homes during lockdown, using their favourite super heroes. It is a tribute to the heroes out there, who are working tiredlessly day and night for the mankind. “As a director, I wanted to make a movie to give a bit of hope and strength to all these people,” Raffin mentioned.
Directed by Raffin, with art produced by Vincent Roché and music performed by Vanessa Giangrande, the film uses their favorite superheroes as metaphors. “I sincerely hope that you are staying safe during this pandemic, but I know for some it is an unprecedented challenge,” he said. “For the first time, a lot of people are unable to work from home, to do their part, to use their ‘powers.’ As a director, I wanted to make a movie to give a bit of hope and strength to all these people.”
The video shows what superheroes including Wonder Woman, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and X-Men are up to in these strange times. We can also see Bruce Banner, Tony Stark, and Ant-Man working to come up with some way to stop a virus.
Raffin creates music videos for international artists, commercial films for brands such as Louis Vuitton, Cartier, and Dyson, as well as short fictions for TV and main titles for feature films.
