Ameba TV signs SVOD licensing deal with media house Nelvana

Independent subscription based streaming service Ameba TV has struck a licensing deal with Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana that allows the Japanese company to stream some of the latter’s  children’s content on it’s own entertainment platform.

In all, the deal sees Ameba TV secure the streaming rights over 59 different titles by Nelvana, including Being Ian, Elliot Moose, Pecola, Donkey Cong Country, Pippi Longstocking, Maurice Sendak’s Little Bear, Brace Face, Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends and Babar: The Movie among others.

Ameba TV CEO Tony Havelka commented, “The foundation of our catalog is based on having a great selection of classic and nostalgic children’s programming. We are so excited to have Nelvana as our newest content partner and thrilled to be able to add this wonderful mixture of well-established kid favorites to our platform.

“Our young audiences are going to enjoy having easy access to such great entertaining programs.”

“We are delighted to work with Ameba TV to offer 59 exceptional Nelvana titles for families to enjoy in homes around North America,” added head of Nelvana Enterprises Pam Westman.

“This partnership allows kids to immerse themselves in a world of curiosity, empowerment and exploration through some of their favorite television series, and we are proud to continue providing engaging content to a new digital audience.”
