Aardman makes first global ad with a Social approach

Aardman Animations makes its first ever global cinema advertisement to fight social inequality, tackle climate change and end poverty. The ad titled #WeHaveAPlan aims to tell everyone or rather spread the word about UN Global Goals to make this planet a better place.

Aardman joined hands with SAWA Global Cinema Advertising Association, Richard Curtis’ Project Everyone and BBH to make everyone aware about the initiatives of the UN. Advertising being the most effective medium, this advertisement is appearing in cinemas in over 34 countries. The CG animated ad is directed by Darren Dubicki and features the voice of the Taken star Liam Neeson and Fast and Furious 7 star Michelle Rodriguez.

The ad featuring a UN announcement with different nations waiting to hear the plan was animated under the creative leadership of Sir John Hegarty with a soundtrack written and produced by Peter Gabriel. Conveying UN’s announcement is a serious and official matter but Aardman, known for its creative humour with Shaun The Sheep, portrayed the solemn message in an effective, creative and humourous manner. And, the purpose of the ad is fulfilled as it strongly conveys the message across and also leaves a smile on the viewers due to its good humour.

As it is said- ‘Communication is a TWO way process’, the ad leaves an imprint in your minds and you can interact with it using the Global Goals app available on iOS and Android to help spread the word. If goals are met, the planet will definitely be a better place! And to achieve that, everyone on this planet needs to be aware of these goals.
