A new animated short greets New Year ‘Studio Eeksaurus’ style

The bells have rung and the mood is set, Studio Eeksaurus welcomes one and all in the coming new year. The studio, whose main focus is on the storytelling, recently came out with a new 2D animated clip wishing ‘Happy Moo Year.’

Eeksaurus, an ad film production company with an in-house animation studio, have given many interesting ads over the years including the recent 3 ads created for the Mumbai Police, titled Intergalactic Pest Control, Bagzilla – Portable Monster Assist and Porcupine Jacket that promoted women’s empowerment along with spreading awareness to dial 103 whenever they find themselves in any danger.

This year for the first time, India won at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and the price was bagged by Studio Eeksaurus for a film titled ‘Fateline’ under the Commissioned Film Category for for Rotary International, in association with JWT, Kolkata.

Coming back to the quirky 23 seconds animated short they created for New Year, it revolves around the subject which has been in news all round the year – BAN. Using the simple yet effective 2D animation technique and a comical music score, two main elements can be seen: cows and tigers. The cows are dancing freely in the open air whereas hungry cub and the tiger are enclosed in a cage. The best part about clip is the fact that it subtly hits out on the meat ban and its impact along with showcasing the ‘Indian’ behaviour of littering everywhere.

The studio says on their social media page, “2015 is almost over.. It was an interesting year with its own ups and downs, good and bad, progression and regression, crime and punishment, floods and droughts, bans and intolerance, intolerance against intolerance, revolts, resistance, rise in. We hope that this year will be fun filled, ban-free and happy for everyone around!”
