MAAC Vashi organized its 10th Annual Award Function GRAVITY 2013 on 5th September. Over the past 9 years, Gravity has become the leading 3D Animation Event in Navi Mumbai.
Organized at Abbott hotel, the event was inaugurated by Bhavika Chouhan- Senior vice President MAAC and Prasad Vanarase- Director, MAAC Vashi.
GRAVITY provided students of MAAC Vashi a chance to experience the production pipeline flow and understand the ins and outs of working in a production house.
In this 3 month in house competition, students were given an opportunity to create original artworks and submit it in various categories. A total of 75 Individual and Group entries were submitted in the categories, Best Sketching, Best Digital Painting, Best Matte Painting, Best Photography, Best Modeling & Texturing, Best Architectural Walkthrough, Best Digital film making, Best Visual Effects Film and Best 3DShort Film
Speaking to AnimationXpress.com, Sanjay Khanted Director of MAAC Vashi, says, “Gravity always aims to help students learn something new.”
Students were given a chance to showcase their skills to representatives from leading productions houses and stalwarts in Indian Animation Industry. Apart from showcasing student’s works, the event also allowed students of MAAC Vashi to showcase their talents by performing at the event.
The competition was judged by Sanjay Khanted- Director Animax Studios, Bhavika Chouhan -Vice President of MAAC , Ashish Garg – Technical Head of Maac West Zone, and Priyank Vyas- Technical Head of MAAC Vashi.
Winners this year were honored with a Trophy, Medal, Winning Certificates and cash prize sponsored by Animax Studios and the winners are Sindhya Nadar for Best Sketching, Manali Narvenkar for Best Digital Painting, Ranjith
Misal for Best Matte Painting, Avinash khodade and Akshay solanki for Best Photography, Tushal Mall for Best Modeling & Texturing, Kalyani Mankame for Best Architecture Walkthrough: Akshya Solanki, Rohit Yewale, Vaibhav Patil, Sourabh Singh for Best Digital Film Making: Movie: Quit, Darshana Patsupe, Vinay Saroj, Swati Sawant, Chetan Kapadn is for Best VFX: Outex Speaker Advertisement and Akshay Solanki, Monika Zale, Vaivhav Patil, Kashish shrma for Best 3D Short Film Mintoos.
