The Edutainment Awards takes the entertainment in education of media to the next level by bringing in India’s first ever most comprehensive evaluation and rating of media, design, communication & entertainment education in India (Advertising, PR, journalism, Films and TV, fashion & design) institutes of India (UG and PG). While designers and media personnel get recognition in their work space, the fraternity has never seen a comprehensive evaluation as extensive as this one at college levels. The award ceremony will be held on April 26, Saturday, at the JW Marriott, Juhu with over 100 participating colleges and a jury of 20 members. The awards initiative is an integral part of the Edutainment Show (an Event capital IP) in its second year now, being held on April 26-27, 2014, at Juhu JW Marriott.
An eminent media educationist, Prof Ujjwal K Chowdhury is anchoring this initiative to bring to the best of Design and Media institutes, their crown of glory. The leading schools imparting special courses in Media and Design have been short-listed for the study from India. They will be rated on parameters drawn to assess the performance of the institutes from a holistic perspective. Ratings to be on the parameters given below:
· Perception study of alumni and current students: our team study: at least 200, from six cities or more
· Perception study: Peer evaluation: At least 40 academics interviewed and what does media & design academics speak about the media & design schools (theirs and of others)
· Performance figures of last two years given by the managements in terms of applications, admissions, industry guests, specialization wise students, projects, research, internships, and placements received in last two years, etc.
· Infra-structure: Given by the managements: Brick & mortar, click & portal, library and learning resources, broadcast and cinema production facilities, etc
· Recognitions, affiliations, global and local tie-ups of the institute: Given by the management
· Scope and updating of syllabi given by the management: Syllabi outline, and how frequently updated, how futuristic they are
· Tools of communication: Given by the management, searched by team as well online: portal, brochure, newsletters, social media, films: what do they use, to what extent, how well
· Practical inputs and best practices: Assignments, projects, portfolio, internships, etc. given by the management
· Alumni and industry network: Efforts and results, last two years: initiatives and results achieved in internships, placements, live projects, etc.
