The badass ‘merc with a mouth’ anti hero who’s been making news since the day his movie’s announcement was made, Deadpool will now be getting a sequel even before his first solo movie launch. Paris has been the first country to witness the magic of the ‘merc with a mouth’ hero whereas he will make his debut in North America this friday, 12 February 2016.
Fox is confident of the fact that audiences won’t get a load of Deadpool with just one movie and will be hungry for more. According to THR, the studio has already greenlit the sequel to Deadpool and plans to retain the same creative team for the same. The writers of the film Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have already been roped in and told to prepare a script for the sequel and since the studio wants the same creative team, we can assume that our mercenary anti hero will once again be played by Ryan Reynolds with director Tim Miller in Deadpool 2.
Till date 20th Century Fox has acquired rights from Marvel for the X Men and Fantastic Four franchise with Deadpool being a part of the X Men series. Though Fantastic Four has failed to win the hearts of audiences, X Men has managed to live up to fans expectations. Earlier we had seen Deadpool in X Men origins: Wolverine, the character will bear similarities with its comic book version in this upcoming movie.
Though the movie is R rated which will limit its reach to the potential audience, the studio is expecting a whopping at least $65 million over the upcoming weekend, with some estimates pointing $70 million.
