Recently we saw Batman in the much awaited Batman v Superman but sadly the movie didn’t pan out to fulfill fans expectations. It was quite disappointing, however Ben Affleck as Batman did deliver good performance and now we got to see the teaser trailer of Batman’s new solo movie where we will observe Will Arnett lending his voice to the caped crusader.
We all caught few comic glimpses of Batman in The LEGO Movie but now a full fledged movie is on its way and it sure seems packed with hell lot of gags. The LEGO Batman Movie, a spin off of the film The LEGO Movie which is being directed by Chris McKay and written by Seth Grahame-Smith, stars Will Arnett as Batman, along with Ralph Fiennes (Alfred Pennyworth), Rosario Dawson (Batgirl), Michael Cera (Robin), Zach Galifianakis (The Joker), and Mariah Carey (Mayor of Gotham City).
We have all seen the Dark Knight in his dark, gritty, no fun all business form but now we see the other version of him. What does Batman do when he’s not saving the world? He beat boxes, chills out in his cavernous Batcave, throws on a comfy robe, and gobbles a plate of Lobster Thermidor! Definitely not anyone might have thought of. Not just that, the trailer further teases us with a glimpse of Batman running into action with Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, The Flash, Green Arrow and Green Lantern who are falling into formation behind him (Maybe we can expect a LEGO Justice League movie in the near future just as DC’s live action movie slate).
We also hear a computer voice with whom Batman interacts with in his Batcave. Somewhat like what Iron Man has in the form of J.A.R.V.I.S but more like the voice of Apple’s Siri. Along with this the teaser is packed with plenty of jokes like “Batman back in. Forgot to drop the mike”, “I saved the city again. It was off the chain” and in the end just as we saw in The LEGO Movie, he says, “First try.”
Just like The LEGO Movie, Animal Logic and Warner Animation Group have worked on the animation. We observe Animal Logic once again saw to it that the film’s animation replicate a stop motion film even though everything was done through computer graphics, to give the movie feel of how LEGO blocks move.
Wiz Khalifa’s Black and Yellow adds the groove to this animated movie’s trailer that’s set to beatbox its way to theatres on 10 February, 2017.
