Spider-Man made a flashy entrance in the Captain America: Civil War movie trailer, sending fans into a jolly frenzy and recently it was announced that the web crawler will be getting his solo movie named Spider-Man: Homecoming. The big news finally arrives as Iron Man played by actor Robert Downey Jr. has finalised talks to appear in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming!
Along with this news, there’s disheartening news as well as it has also been revealed that, Michael Keaton, who was being speculated of playing the part of the villain in the movie, has parted ways with the project after initial talks.
Iron Man is likely to play the role of rather mentor to Spider-Man in the movie. This would be the first film under the joint banner of Sony and Marvel Studios and Downey Jr.’s casting shows that Marvel is keenly interested in keeping their universes intricately linked going forward. As the actor was not in a contract for this project, Marvel had to sign a rather pricey deal to make it happen.
Marisa Tomei has already been cast in the role of Aunt May and it also includes Zendaya and Tony Revolori in yet anonymous roles.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to release on 7 July, 2017, however for now we will catch the glimpse of the young web crawler Spider-Man in the upcoming Marvel movie, Captain America: Civil War on 6 May, 2016.
