The new trailer of Batman: Arkham Knight shows the grim environment of Gotham City and the hopelessness among its citizens; and to add to the misery super villains are seen plotting to kill the Dark Knight.
Chief troublemaker is Scarecrow, who alongside the mysterious Arkham Knight is causing all sorts of trouble. But we also get an eyeful of Two-Face, Penguin, Riddler, the Arkham Knight, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.
The trailer has Poison Ivy giving a visual narrative to Batman about taking over Gotham by all the super villains and how all of this turns into one hell of a mess and only can Batman fix everything.
Batman: Arkham Knight is also the most violent in the series to date.
IGN reports that the fourth instalment in the series is the first to be given an M (Mature) rating by US board the ESRB. Previous games have been rated T (Teen).
“From our point of view, we never wrote it or made it with a rating in mind,” Rocksteady founder and game director Sefton Hill said. “We never did that in the previous two games… We just felt that this is the story that we really wanted to tell.”
“As the end of the trilogy, we have every villain in Gotham working together to destroy Batman. It’s unavoidable that some bad stuff is going to happen. But that doesn’t mean we changed our approach. We’re not including gratuitous blood or swearing. We want to deliver a true end with no compromises, and it takes us to some dark places.”
Developer Rocksteady Studios’ Batman: Arkham Knight is scheduled for a 2 June release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
