In 2014, DreamWorks Animation had announced that they will be coming out with an animated movie loosely based on the pictorial book ‘Boss Baby’ by Marla Freeze. Directed by Tom McGrath (Madagascar), it is now learnt that Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, Patton Oswalt, Steve Buscemi and Miles Bakshi have joined Alec Baldwin and Kevin Spacey for the movie based on the same name.
The story centers on a seven year old who decides he has to win back the love of his parents after the arrival of his brother, a bossy baby, who has uncanny ways of hogging the spotlight. When he goes on a mission to win back affection of his parents, he finds out about a secret plot by the CEO of Puppy Co., which revolves around his baby brother and threatens to destabilise the balance of love in the world. To save the world, the brothers must unite to not only save their parents but also restore order to the world.
With Frazee’s playful use of humorous text and watercolour illustrations, The Boss Baby received positive reviews with the Horn Book Magazine calling it “this year’s baby-shower hit.”
Baldwin is lending his voice to the titular character of the Boss Baby whereas Kimmel and Kudrow will voice the parents. Buscemi will play the role of Francis E. Francis, the CEO of PuppyCo and Bakshi will play the older brother. Oswalt is acting as the narrator, the older brother as a grown-up.
DreamWorks Dedicated Unit (DreamWorks studio in India) have also contributed in the making of the film along with the USA studio. Produced by Ramsey Ann Naito and penned by Michael McCullers Boss Baby is set to entertain the audience on 10 March, 2017.
