“We share a common commitment with Loco to grow the esports and gaming community in India. Content creation gives us a way to directly interact with our fans, and deals like this support our creators and enable them to connect with new audiences. As Velocity Gaming continues to expand more into content creation, we are excited to enter this mutually beneficial association with India’s homegrown streaming platform, Loco,” said Velocity Gaming owner Manoj Kashyap.
Fans can expect to see more content from Velocity Gaming and its talent on Loco. The organisation will also be conducting other activations, such as an upcoming showdown, as a part of the partnership.
Commenting on the partnership, Loco VP Firasat Durrani said, “As an esports broadcaster, LOCO welcomes streamers and organisers to capitalise the platform’s optimised features for game streaming and tournaments. Velocity Gaming has grown widely popular since its inception in 2017 and has created a name for itself in the past under various game titles, like PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege and now through their Valorant roster, partnering with LOCO helps them connect with relevant audiences present on the platform. Velocity streamers will also be on-boarded as creators on LOCO, as a part of the long-term association, adding further to LOCO’s content library for PC games and tournaments.”
“Velocity Gaming and Loco are both growing really rapidly. We recognised that they shared a common vision for the esports ecosystem in India, so discussing this association was a no-brainer for us. It makes me very happy that we can arrange these partnerships through Sky Route, which not only benefits both parties, but also brings exciting gameplay and content for the community,” said Skyesports CMO Gnana Shekar. Velocity Gaming is signed with Sky Route, which is the talent management wing of Skyesports.
Loco seamlessly connects streamers and creators to their relevant viewers, providing them with exponential content reach. Having grown rapidly since its inception, the platform raised $9 million in seed funding from leading game developer Krafton and India’s first gaming venture fund Lumikai. With over 1,000+ hours of live gaming content being streamed per day, Loco is dedicated to democratising gaming entertainment in India and makes for the perfect esports broadcaster to partner with.
Velocity Gaming is one of India’s fastest-growing esports organisations. In the past year and a half, the Hyderabad-based org has made a name for itself in the VALORANT esports scene with one of the most talented rosters in India. This includes its main lineup and the all-female team, VLT Asteria, which has represented the organisation internationally.
Velocity recently signed a BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE India (BGMI) team featuring former Team IND players. Consisting of some of the most decorated athletes in India, the team is now looking to conquer the upcoming BGMI India Series.
Last month, Velocity also entered into a one-of-a-kind deal with global semiconductor company AMD.
