Creators of the game Spec Ops: The Line and Dreadnought are officially ready to release their next first-person shooting game, The Cycle: Frontier. Developer Yager confirmed 22 June as the release date of the game on Steam, with a pre-launch event arriving on 8 June. The game is launching almost after three years of early access testing on PC.
The Cycle: Frontier will be available on Epic Games Store and Steam. It is currently the most wish-listed free-to-play game on Steam. The official synopsis of the game on Steam reads: The Cycle: Frontier is a free-to-play PvPvE Extraction Shooter driven by suspense and danger. Prospect for resources and other riches on an abandoned alien world ravaged by a deadly storm, inhabited by monsters, and frequently raided by other ambitious Prospectors.
In an update on Steam, creator and publisher Yager mentioned that the game will bring back Fortuna Pass, which has a series of challenges with corresponding rewards, along with a brand new PvE dungeon full of loot and nasty creatures.
Since August 2019, The Cycle: Frontier has been in pre-release, including various playable betas. The Cycle: Frontier was first advertised as just The Cycle. Yager re-announced the project under its present title, The Cycle: Frontier, alongside the beginning of a closed beta test in September 2021.
