In collaboration with the WEF (Women Economic Forum), the WICCI (Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry), India-Austria Bilateral Business Council hosted India’s first ever Metaverse show on 11 to 12 June in IIC (India International Centre) Delhi. The theme of the show was Cohesive and Sustainable World in the Digital Era. House of Krifin, Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika, BBT (Big Boys Toyz), New Delhi’s Hotel Leela Palace, Forest Essentials, and Jamia Millia Islamia University’s MF Hussein Gallery are among the event’s key sponsors.
The two day event included a series of seminars and panel discussion that suggest and present ‘solutions’ to the world’s current concerns, rather than merely a general gathering and get-together. Concerns about the environment and carbon reduction might give governments with a new income stream worth more than Euro 250-300 billion per year. Prominent Brands hosted an event that includes a Humanoid launch, an award ceremony, a fashion show, a vehicle launch, and an art exhibition.
Shubhika Sharma from Papa Don’t Preach, a Bollywood celebrity designer and India’s first metaverse fashion designer, displayed their garments and accessories on this Metaverse platform, making them the first ever fashion apparel brand to do so. It was totally a Papa Don’t Preach world with six of our pieces that walked the digital runway. These outfits, along with our accessories, are available as NFTs post-show.
This is our first step into and towards the metaverse and the possibilities are endless. We showcased our Indian couture to highlight the beauty and intricacies of Indian craftsmanship and tie it to technology and its ever-changing facets.
