Skyesports Championship 2024 adds two new teams to tournament

Skyesports Championship 2024 has expanded its total number of teams from eight to 12. Of the four new teams joining the event, two are Russia’s Amkal and Finland’s Ence. The names of the remaining two teams are yet to be announced.

Skyesports Championship is a yearly competition organised by the Indian esports tournament organisation Skyesports. First held in 2019, the tournament features multiple esports titles split across PC and mobile games, and spans Indian as well as international gamers.

Of the two new teams, Ence made a double change towards the end of May when it added Viktor “⁠sdy⁠” Orudzhev and Paavo “⁠podi⁠” Heiskanen to its roster. The Russian team Amkal was in the news recently after it cut ties with one of its players – AWPer Kaisar “⁠ICY⁠” Faiznurov.

Below are the names of the 10 teams. Out of these twelve teams, the majority come to the event via direct invites.

  • True Rippers Esports (Indian Qualifier)

The Skyesports Championship will take place over seven days starting 23 July 2024. Featuring a $300,000 prize pool, the tournament will take place in Mumbai and comprise a mix of international teams as well as a few teams from regional qualifiers.
