Creators of the 2017 game Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator are coming back again for a new psychological horror game Homebody. Rogue Games and Game Grumps are going to release Homebody on PC and consoles. As it appears, the game is inspired by 80’s slasher films apart from classic survival horror films and narrative titles based on the new wave of low-poly.
The player assumes the role of Emily, who is stuck in a mysterious house full of puzzles. Things quickly become bizarre. The secrets appear to extend beyond the house and into Emily’s recollections and mental landscapes. According to the game’s synopsis, the player must avoid the killer, solve the riddles, and make dialogue selections. Both enemy AI and dialogue choices are created for unique user experiences across multiple playthroughs. To aid players, a dynamic in-game clue log will allow them to keep track of riddles and progress.
Homebody will be available on the Epic Games Store, Steam and platforms soon. The initial release is light on actual details, which makes sense given that the theme’s narrative appears to be purposely obscure and twisting. The game is a total 180-degree pivot from Dream Daddy, but it’ll be fascinating to see how the team’s dating sim experience translates to an entirely different genre.
