Riot Games announces winning non profits, including from India, from end of year charity voting campaign

Riot Games, Los Angeles developer and publisher, known for genre-defining games including League of Legends and VALORANT, announced the winning nonprofits from their end of year charity voting campaign.

In December, Riot announced that they were allocating $6M for players to vote on how Riot, in partnership with GlobalGiving, would distribute the funds across the 83 pre-selected nonprofits. The organisation who received the most votes from each country/region received 50 per cent of that country/region’s charity pool with the other two organisations each receiving 25 per cent. Riot has guaranteed a minimum grant of $15,000 to each participating nonprofit. At the end of the two week voting period, over 775,000 players had cast their vote for which nonprofit they wanted to support.

“Thanks to our incredible players we were able to make a difference for 83 nonprofit organisations worldwide. 2022 was a great year for the Social Impact Fund and we’re excited to bring players more opportunities in 2023 to make meaningful change in their local communities through our games,” said  Riot Games senior manager social impact Jimmy Hahn.
