Speaking to Animationxpress.com, Rajat Ojha, Managing Director, The Awesome Game Studio, said “The major inspiration was to have much more creative and business freedom. We are aiming to get tie-ups with major publishers for long term relationships but earlier I had only access to them or used to meet them as friends. We have lot of ideas and we just can’t sit and have good ideas on table, we need to convert those ideas into playable games and have a team which can take these games to all the platforms possible. Today, with rapid growth of mobile gaming, browser based games, DTH games and console games, platforms are many and we need to leverage as many as possible.”
TAGS is currently working on a new console and iPad game titled Kemuri. The game is at prototyping phase. The game is about a dead samurai who is stuck in his way beyond the land of the dead, he has to fight his way through to attain resurrection. He has denial to accept his death and wishes to revive himself in order to take revenge from his mortal enemy who killed him in the real world. It is more of a combat based game with lot of unique puzzles.
Elaborating about the long term vision of the company Rajat said, “We want to be the fastest growing studio in the world with some kickass IPs in our kitty which can be converted into long term franchise mode. We’ve taken global development rights of one of the big USA based toy manufacturing company to make games around their toys which can open up a phenomenal new market for us as it already enjoys millions of users who’ll have immediate access to our games.”
Apart from Kemuri, TAGS is working on two console game IPs, three short mobile games and designing one mobile social game.
