It’s been over a year now that NewGen Gaming launched its esports organisation Penta Esports and it is already creating waves in the Indian esports ecosystem. Being the new entrant in the industry, it has hosted over 10 tournaments and is currently organising Penta Collegiate League. Along with the tournaments, they are also active on social media and are running three shows – ‘Esports in 5’ in English and Hindi, and ‘Koffee with Kiran’ in English and ‘1v1’ .
Recently AnimationXpress had a chance to virtually meet the key decision makers of Penta Esports to discuss everything related to esports and the company’s success story. Newgen Gaming founder and CEO Anurag Khurana, co-founder and head of esports Kiran Noojibail, co-founder and CMO Akshay Paul and head of content Krishanu Ghosal shared insights on their respected fields, what has been the secret ingredient behind their rapid success and lastly they shared valuable tips on the growth of the esports industry.
Some of the points shared by the team are:
- The heads believe that esports should be accessible to everyone. From someone remotely interested or curious about it to the well acquainted ones. Khurana stressed that the initial team up was based on the purpose to give esports the cricket twist as ‘gully esports’.
- The team doesn’t aim to rope in ambassadors as the organisation team members are already the face of the brand.
- The esports organisation has been a bootstrapped one but they might raise funds in future.
- The company has no plans to launch its own metaverse but in future they might be on the platform.
