Nazara Publishing, the publishing arm of Nazara Technologies revealed the gameplay trailer for mobile shooter FAU-G: Domination at the game’s world premiere event held in Mumbai. Pre-registrations for the game are live on the Google Play Store.
The game is Nazara and nCore Games’ answer to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day call to action to the nation. He urged India’s games industry to focus on designing world-class games. He highlighted the country’s talent and potential to become a global leader in gaming.
nCore Games is a Bengaluru-based games publisher and is known for the original FAU-G game and ICC Cricket Mobile. Nazara also announced at the event that the game was conceptualised by Indian cinema actor Akshay Kumar.
The lore synopsis for the FAU-G franchise reads: Short for Fearless and United Guards, FAU-G is an elite black ops unit within the Indian Army established by Dhillon. FAU-G operatives specialise in counter-terrorism, infiltration, and covert operations to name a few. They operate in politically sensitive areas and unauthorised combat zones which don’t allow the army to operate through conventional means.
The synopsis for the latest FAU-G: Domination game reads: In order to keep the FAU-G operatives on their toes for the next big mission, FAU-G has created Domination – a programme to train existing FAU-Gs and create the next generation of them. At the heart of Domination is an AI supercomputer called PARAM capable of creating realistic scenarios based on Indian points of interest. The current subroutines include Rajasthan, Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai, to name a few.
FAU-G: Domination’s trailer showcases a montage of firefights, a wide variety of weapons and multiple locations and maps from the game. The game is developed by Mumbai-based Dot9 Games, which has previously developed games like Ram Setu: The Run and Apna Games Ludo Carrom Cricket.
Under the mentorship of Kumar, nCore is dedicating the game to Bharat Ke Veer. Bharat Ke Veer Trust gives homage and support to families of India’s armed forces martyrs. Nazara will donate Rs. 25,00,000 to Bharat Ke Veer and FAU-G: Domination will also feature specific cosmetic items such as badges, of which 100 per cent of the proceeds will go towards Bharat Ke Veer.
The trust is conceptualised by Kumar and implemented by the Ministry of Home Affairs, to support the families of India’s armed forces martyrs. The game is a partnership between Nazara Technologies, nCore Games and Dot9 Games.
Nazara Technologies founder and CEO Nitish Mittersain said, “We’re delighted to finally showcase FAU-G: Domination and open pre-registrations for the game after a period of public testing that verified what we knew — FAU-G: Domination can address the demand of Indian gamers for locally relevant content. We can’t wait to share more with you on the road to release through our marketing initiatives.”
nCore Games co-founder Vishal Gondal stated, “FAU-G: Domination is well on the way to launch and our new gameplay trailer along with our pre-registration campaign are first steps in revealing more to players. India has amazing game design and development talent, and this signals India’s arrival as a major player in the global gaming industry.”
Dot9 Games co-founder and FAU-G Domination’s developer Deepak Ali said, “After several playtests and positive player feedback, we’re confident that FAU-G: Domination is in a state that Indian gamers expect. Shooter fans are perhaps FAU-G’s most demanding audience right now, wanting high performance with high fidelity graphics on their smartphones, thankfully our team is up to the task.”
The world premiere event highlighted Nibe, India’s defence manufacturer as the defence subject matter expert for the game. Nibe group chairman and managing director Ganesh Nibe stated, “We’re proud to contribute to FAU-G: Domination towards bringing a true-to-life representation of India’s defence efforts to the widest possible audience. The next-generation of the nation are digital natives and FAU-G: Domination gives us a platform to showcase what keeps India safe and secure.”
Nibe is involved in various segments of defence production; from fabrication of structures and sub-assemblies for programmes such as Modular bridge, Rudder blade, Pinaka launcher, and MRSAM launcher for the tri-services of Indian defence, to components of electronic systems, Small Arms (such as Assault Rifles and LMGs), Ammunition (Large and Medium calibres), and Space projects, for domestic as well as international applications.
