Esports and online gaming have witnessed exponential growth across Asian countries last year, and the growth in the Pakistan region is quite speedy as well, the esports teams from Pakistan are confident about partnering with international organizations and players to accelerate and boost the gaming economy in the country. We also seek to collaborate with local organizations, investors, and brands, and ad agencies to join hands with us for the growth of the Esports industry in the country.
Established in 2019 Esports Marketing Pakistan (EMP) founder Majid Hameed, is the Pakistan’s first Esports advertising, research, and marketing firm. Providing end-to-end esports solutions, the organisation actively creates competitive roasters, partners with leading brands, and hosts esports tournaments and leagues. The organisation also invests in setting dedicated ‘boot camp’ houses for esports athletes (to live, train, eat, and sleep) to hone their skills and practice to represent the country internationally. Currently, EMP has partnered with two of Pakistan’s leading TV Channels – 8XM Music and Abbtakk News to produce gaming and esports content for TV/ Web.
Commenting on the partnerships and collaborations with International esports organisations and players Hameed said, “Asia has experienced aggressive and rapid growth in the gaming and esports industry post-COVID-19 lockdown across the globe last year. Many esports players grew by five-10X times during this time and many gaming start-ups saw the day of light. However, the scenario remains the same in the Pakistan region as in other Asian countries. Gaming here started growing rapidly this year and we are yet to break many stigmas and cultural notions attached to it. While we do have highly talented gamers, we need lucrative tournaments, and strategic alliances with brands and established gamers to grow faster.”
The company also looking for various opportunities to collaborate with Indian esports, tech companies and players as well considering past tournaments organised by Indian esports organisation. He shared with AnimationXpress, “An Indian esports organisation had hosted esports tournament and championship in the past which lead to the initial boom of this sector in Pakistan. We wish to explore more such international and local associations and collaborations for the growth of Esports in the country. We as a country are looking forward to learning from the experiences of Asian gaming and esports start-ups as the audiences and brands have similar notions in the countries.”
