The Epic Game Store has made it easier to refund games and manage downloads courtesy of a new update. According to a post from Epic Games you will be able to self-refund games.
In other words, players won’t have to contact the company in order to get their money back. All games are eligible for a refund within 14-days of purchase. Bear in mind that if you have played any game you want to refund for more than two hours, you won’t be able to get your money back.
Furthermore, Epic Games says that you won’t be able to get a refund for “games from which you have been banned or for which you have otherwise violated the terms of service. In addition, you may not be eligible for refunds if Epic determines that you are abusing the refund policy.”
How to get a refund on Epic Games Store
Here are the steps you need to follow if you want to claim a refund on your Epic Games Store purchases:
- Sign into your account on the Epic Games website
- Click the ‘Account’ dropdown on the top right corner of the webpage
- Go to the ‘Transactions’ tab and click on the game title
- If the game is eligible for a self-service refund, click the ‘Refund’ option to initiate the refund process
In addition to this, Epic also released bandwidth management tools “for players looking to have more control over their download options” useful if you have a data cap. It essentially lets you throttle your bandwidth allowing you to perform installations and updates over a longer period of time rather than the moment they hit. It can be activated in the ‘Settings’ section of the Epic Games Launcher.
