Iron Man, played by Tony Stark, will serve as the focus of a brand-new video game. The new action-adventure single-player game was announced by Motive and Marvel Entertainment in a blog post published on the Electronic Arts website.
“We’re thrilled to share that an all-new single-player, third-person, action-adventure Iron Man video game is now in early development at Montreal-based Motive Studio. The team is being led by Olivier Proulx, who brings experience working on past Marvel titles like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and is joined by a dedicated team of passionate industry veterans including Ian Frazier, Maëlenn Lumineau, and JF Poirier at the studio,” said the company.
In order to offer players a sense of what it would be like to embody the well-known hero, Motive’s Iron Man game has an original tale that draws from the rich history of Iron Man while also channelling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark. The game is still in the pre-production stage, and Motive is still assembling its creative team. The blog also mentions that Marvel and Electronic Arts are collaborating on other games, with the Iron Man title being the first. However, it makes no mention of which characters might appear in the other games.
Tony Stark has appeared in video games as a member of a team, frequently next to the Avengers, such as in 2020’s Marvel’s Avengers by Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix. The most current standalone Iron Man video game was released in 2020 for PlayStation VR. Before that, Iron Man appeared in two video game adaptations of his Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, 2008’s Iron Man and 2010’s Iron Man 2, both released on consoles and portable gaming devices.
