Kerala based game development company Csharks recently launched a new puzzle game called ‘Jewel Match’ for android platforms on June 18, 2012 and Google Play version on July 3, 2012. The game was earlier released on the web platform as well.
Jewel Match is a puzzle game where one has to match the Jewel triplets to fuse them and score. You have to explode all Jewels to advance the levels. The faster you do it , quicker you jump on to the next level. You can either tilt the device to rotate the grid or swipe the screen to move the jewels to a direction. You got to set your controls prior, in the settings menu. You have limited time to complete each level.
The Flash version of the game contains only 10 levels, whereas the android version includes 25 levels. The levels having a gradual increase in their puzzle adds on to the difficulty and makes the game play more challenging as levels progress.
Speaking to Animationxpress.com about the game Eldhose P Mathew MD & CEO shared, “We have seen similar kinds of games in different platforms hence we thought to design this game in a different way, by adding something new to this addictive idea. That is how we decided to add on a concept of rotating the grid to match and fuse the jewels.
In the flash game we added some buttons to rotate the grid to move the jewels accordingly and for android devices we decided to add a tilt control so that player can tilt the device to slide the jewels to match them. This is implemented with compass and accelerometer features in the devices. We also added a swipe control in Android version which is useful in case the device has no compass, so that player can swipe on the screen to move the jewels.”
Juwal Bose, Creative Head said that, “What we believe is in quality. Quality of game means the fun factor, art quality and smooth game play. Even though while creating the game one of our challenge was to tackle the perfection and smoothness in tilt controls of the game, our skilled programmers made it perfect. Our team has really worked hard for this game and I am sure it has paid off through initial feedback. Most of the initial players have gotten addicted to this game”.
Csharks is currently working on their next venture ‘PlatformGolf’ which is going to be released in both iOS and Android platforms. They even have a html5 and a flash premium game getting ready to be published in July.
