Carnival Gaming has emerged as the champion of Skyesports Showdown Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament. The competition saw teams from across the country register to compete for the title.
After a round of qualifiers and the live-broadcasted playoffs stage, Carnival Gaming marked its first major victory for the new Counter-Strike 2 esports roster. The team’s roster comprised of:
- Jaspreet “SpawN” Singh
- Vishwesh “CycloneF” Waradkar
- Garvit “Ember” Nehra
- Piyush “clouda” Kalwania
- “Rider”
The team won its first game against Marcos Gaming two-zero but then faced the formidable team True Rippers. Despite winning the first game in the best-of-three series, True Rippers managed to come back to win two-one.
Carnival Gaming’s SpawN said, “Our start was rough because our roster was made up of players from different teams. So the mentality and synergy we had towards the game were different and it took us a while to adapt. A lot of people said that our roster wouldn’t work. But, within a month, we have been able to win this tournament.”
With the victory, the team will walk away with Rs 70,000 of the Rs 100,000 prize pool. Next up, the team will be preparing for the India qualifier for the Skyesports Championship 2024. The main event of the championship is set to take place as an on-ground event with teams from around the world competing for a share of the US$200,000 prize pool.
