Here is our pick of game releases that will see the light of day in December 2021:
Cricket 22: The Official Game of The Ashes (2 December): Cricket 22 is a 2021 cricket video game developed by Big Ant Studios and published by Nacon. It is the official video game of the 2021–22 Ashes series of cricket matches, and the (second) sequel to the 2017 game Ashes Cricket and first sequel to the 2019 game ‘’Cricket 19’’. The makers have also unveiled Nets Challenge facility for the users as part of the pre-ordering plans which would go in full-swing from late October 2021. The video game will feature the inclusion of both men’s and women’s editions of the Big Bash league for the very first time. In addition, the game will also introduce newcomers Caribbean Premier League and The Hundred. The video game cover will feature Australian women’s cricket captain Meg Lanning and men’s VC Cummins who replaced Australian captain Tim Paine who was initially set to appear before resigning the captaincy over a Sexting scandal, which caused the game to be delayed by a week. The makers of the game also announced that it would introduce an all-female commentary team for all women’s cricket matches with a bid to ensure gender equality. Furthermore, a new commentary team has been named with the likes of Michael Atherton, David Gower, Isa Guha, Mel Jones, Alison Mitchell and Ian Healy for the video game.

Disney Magical World 2: Enchanted Edition (3 December): Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life 2 is a life simulation video game and a sequel to Disney Magical World. The popular life simulation game returns with new features, new costumes, new worlds, and even more new characters. Disney Magical World 2 is a life simulation game. Features from its predecessor include building furniture, clothing and using ingredients, as well as new features such as riding a boat. The game adds new characters from Mickey Mouse and Friends, The Three Little Pigs, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Fantasia, The Three Caballeros, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, The Aristocats, Winnie the Pooh, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hercules, Lilo & Stitch, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph and Frozen.

Halo Infinite (8 December): Halo Infinite is an upcoming first-person shooter game developed by 343 Industries and published by Xbox Game Studios. The sixth main entry in the Halo series, it continues the story of the Master Chief, following Halo 5: Guardians (2015). Unlike previous installments in the series, the multiplayer portion of the game is free-to-play. Infinite was planned to be released as a launch title with the Xbox Series X/S on 10 November 2020, but was delayed in August 2020. Halo Infinite is a shooter with most gameplay taking place from a first-person perspective, that includes a number of weapons and vehicles commonly found in the Halo series (e.g. the Warthog). It features several types of abilities for player character the Master Chief, such as the Grapple Shot and Thruster, which enables him to pull himself towards foes or retrieve items. The title’s campaign mode features a semi-open world structure; players can freely explore parts of the setting, the ringworld Zeta Halo, which are segmented off from each other and initially impassable. There are also more linear environments within the ring’s surface. Scattered throughout the environment are Forward Operating Bases, which can be cleared of enemies and captured. Captured bases serve as fast-travel points and earn the player Valor, which is used to call in new weapons and vehicles.

Among Us (14 December): Among Us is a 2018 online multiplayer social deduction game developed and published by American game studio Innersloth. The game was inspired by the party game Mafia and the science fiction horror film The Thing. It allows for cross-platform play, first being released on iOS and Android devices in June 2018 and on Windows later that year in November. Among Us is a multiplayer game for four to fifteen players, although recommended for at least five. Up to three players are randomly and secretly chosen to be the Impostor(s) each round. As of 2021, a round can take place on one of four maps: a spaceship called “The Skeld”; a headquarters building called “MIRA HQ”; a planet base called “Polus” or an airship based on Innersloth’s Henry Stickmin series called “The Airship”. The Impostor(s) win(s) one of two ways: either by killing most of the crew (to the point that they’re equal in number) or by sabotaging a critical system on the map (provided the Crewmates don’t resolve it in time). The Crewmates likewise can win one of two ways: either by completing all tasks or by identifying and ejecting all Impostors. Games can also end by players quitting the match if doing so fulfills any win condition (if a Crewmate quits the game, their tasks are automatically considered completed).

Rogue Invader (15 December): It is an action game where the player is the invader attacking the alien horde in this genre-flipping roguelite shooter. Gameplay resembles 1-Bit black and white old-school games, with modern touches and HD graphics. 20 years ago, the Zenos began invading terran colonies, leaving a trail of death and tears in their wake. Terrans fought back, one planet at a time, while building a fleet to stab at the Zeno home-world. The player arrives with that fleet, just after a series of massive space battles in which all supply ships have been destroyed. You are left with a huge invasion army but no supplies to invade with other than one drop-pod, and one pistol.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach (16 December): Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is an upcoming 2021 nonlinear survival horror video game developed by Steel Wool Studios and published by ScottGames. It is the eighth main installment in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, taking place after the events of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Special Delivery. The player takes control of a young boy named Gregory, who is locked in a large shopping mall filled with murderous animatronics and must complete numerous missions to survive until 6:00 am in order to escape. The animatronics found throughout the mall include Glamrock Freddy, Glamrock Chica, Montgomery Gator, Roxanne Wolf, Sunnydrop and his nighttime counterpart Moondrop, and Giant Music Man. The player will also encounter Vanny, a woman dressed in a rabbit costume, who also serves as an enemy. There are also employee robots called Staff Bots that can alert enemies to Gregory’s location if they spot him. A security guard named Vanessa is also encountered in the mall. All enemies will get stronger as the night progresses, so the player must adapt to their surroundings in order to survive. Gregory can hide to avoid Vanny and the animatronics or throw objects to distract them. Running drains stamina and if it’s low, Gregory will not be able to move very fast. Some confrontations will require the use of strategy in order to avoid being caught. Gregory has a flashlight that he can use to see in dark places and carries a device called a “Faz-Watch” on his wrist, where he can access the missions, camera system, and his location in the mall.

Happy’s Humble Burger Farm (3 December): It is an action adventure game when a player gets hired and serve customers and maintain the Happy’s Humble Burger Farm restaurant alone on the overnight. But be careful; things fall apart if you mess up! After work, head home and the player needs to keep their eyes open for a way to escape the Barnyard Buds and their fast food fever-dream. A plyer need to do -grill patties, operate deep fryers, and pour drinks at our quiet restaurant on the edge of town. The customers sure do love the menu; they can’t get enough of the Happy’s Deluxe, Fantastic Fowl, and Poppin’ Pork sandwiches. The fries and salmon nugs are also a big hit. There are rumors of Happy-Dogs and desserts in the near future, too!

The Gunk (16 December): The Gunk is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed by Image & Form and published by Thunderful Publishing. The Gunk is a story-driven action-adventure video game played from a third-person perspective. In the game, the player assumes control of Rani, a scavenger who has arrived on an alien planet with her partner Beck. The alien planet features various biomes such as canyons, jungles and caves, but the terrains have been corrupted by a black slime-like parasite named the Gunk which is actively harming the environment and its wildlife. Rani is equipped with a power glove that can be used to suck in the gunk, effectively restoring the original environment. Players may also need to fight against corrupted monsters. When the gunk is removed, wildlife will thrive, and the player can use Rani’s scanner to scan the environment and learn more about the world. All findings will be documented in a logbook that players can read.
