The Batman director Matt Reeves has revealed Michael Giacchino’s official theme for the upcoming DC film, which stars Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight.
Reeves took on twitter and wrote, “My brilliant friend Michael Giacchino wrote this theme before I ever shot a frame of The Batman. I can still remember listening to it in my car with [Dylan Clark] before we went onto the stage to do [Robert Pattinson’s] screen test. We both had chills.”
Giacchino’s theme can currently be streamed on Apple Music and Spotify, and is available for purchase on the iTunes store.
Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman, striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth, Lt. James Gordon — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.
The Batman cast includes Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Andy Serkis as Wayne’s butler Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.
The Batman hit theatre screens on 4 March 2022 before hitting HBO Max on 19 April.
