‘Ramayana: Rise of a Legend’ trailer offers a deeper glimpse into the world of Rama and Ravana

The second trailer for Ramayana, titled Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, is finally here, and how!

The World of Ramayana unveiled the new trailer for the mythological epic Ramayana: Rise of a Legend on YouTube yesterday. The trailer expands on the world of Rama, a prince who upholds sacrifice and Ravana, a vengeance-driven king blessed by the boon of immortality, and a promise that intertwined their paths, resulting in a legendary saga for times immemorial.  The movie is slated to be released globally in theatres on 5 November 2026, and the trailer is now out in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

In an Instagram post revealing the trailer, WorldofRamayana writes:

“Ramayana: Rise of Legend – New Trailer (Hindi)

Mankind’s greatest story comes to life. From the visual artists behind The Odyssey and Dune, watch the new trailer for Ramayana: Rise of a Legend – exclusively in theatres, Imax and Premium large formats worldwide on 5 November.”

Based on the ancient Indian mythological epic of the same name, the movie’s new trailer offers a deeper glimpse into the world of Rama and Ravana, juxtaposing their prowess, poise, and power on a scale like never before.

The trailer also expands on its worldbuilding, showcasing Jatayu, Airavat, and the Pushpak Viman in finer detail, alongside brief shots of larger-than-life showdowns between Ravana and Indradev and Rama and the demon army.

The audience also gets to see Lanka and Ayodhya in all its grandeur, with newer frames featuring Rama and Sita entranced in each other’s presence and a pompous shot of the newly-married Rama and Sita being welcomed in Ayodhya by the citizens and Jatayu and his army.

With visual effects helmed by Dneg, the company behind iconic movies such as The Odyssey, Dune, Interstellar, and Inception, under the production of filmmaker Namit Malhotra and direction of Nitesh Tiwari, with music by Academy Award winners Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, the movie stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana. While the trailer introduces most of the principal characters, it notably does not reveal Sunny Deol’s first look as Lord Hanuman.

Ramayana is slated to release in two parts, with part two following in 2027.
