Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) long halted project Thunderbolts has now finally gained some momentum as Jake Schreier is roped in as the director. Black Widow’s Eric Pearson is set to write the script and Kevin Feige will be producing the movie.
The premise of the film is unknown, however, it is said to focus on a squad of villains who are sent on government-commissioned missions. Another aspect that remains a mystery is who will be a part of this crew, given that the film is still in development. Over the last few Phases, the MCU has seemingly been setting up the Thunderbolts, which is essentially Marvel’s own version of DC’s Suicide Squad.
Baron Zemo, Yelena Belova, Ghost, Taskmaster, The Abomination, US Agent, and the Winter Soldier are among the characters who could appear in the film. General Thaddeus Ross, a.k.a. Thunderbolt, is also a possibility because he is the one who assembles the original team in the comics, hence the name. This is unconfirmed as no deal for any actor has been closed yet.
While we await for more details about Thunderbolts, here are the upcoming MCU movies:
