The festival aims to map and reflect the exploding nature of the medium in its many facets of creativity and resistance.
The festival will take place simultaneously at two places i.e. at Kalabhavan and Transtower showcasing various films and documentaries from all over the world. It will also conduct different types of competitions including Animation Competition, Long and short Documentary Competition, Music Video Competition, Short Fiction Competition and Campus Competition. IDSFFK will conclude with a closing ceremony where the award winning films will be screened.
Speaking to Animationxpress.com, about the objective and expectations from IDSFFK Bina Paul Venugopal, Artistic Director said that, “The main objective is to encourage Documentary, Short film and Animation filmmakers in India and to give a chance for people to see quality work in this area from around the world. IDSFFK was started five years ago as a branch of the IFFK. We found that at the main festivals Documentaries and Short films were not given enough importance and hence we formed our own body.”
“We have already received 1000 entries from our audiences so far and are anticipating more. We hope to see many more entries and wish to inspire and educate our audiences to the fullest.” Bina concluded.
The registration fee is Rs. 50/-. You can register online.
