Creativity or imaginative thinking is found across all societies in the world. However, certain sections of the society with immense creative talent have remained untapped. With the expanding world of media, the demand for animators is on an all time rise. The ‘We Care We Share’ initiative of Zee Institute of Creative Art (ZICA) aims to bring creative talent to the forefront by introducing the world of animation to the children from the underprivileged section of the society.
The creative arm of Zee Learn, Zee Institute of Creative Art (ZICA) has dedicated the current month to the service of the community. Zee Institute of Creative Art (ZICA) is India’s first full-fledged Classical and Digital Animation Training with over 30 centers in more than 15 major cities, offering degree courses in Animation and Visual Effects, Animation Filmmaking and Visual Communication.
The students & the staff of the ZICA Basaveshwarnagar center in Bangalore visited the children of St. Joseph Convent, an institute for the children detected with HIV, leprosy and other disabilities.
The convent houses around 150 children who are battling different disabilities like: HIV, leprosy and other ailments. The students carried a paper made memento which said ‘ZICA cares for you’ to Sis. Juliet, HOD of the convent. A short film made by ZICA staff and students to support education was screened at the convent. This was followed by a series of entertaining acts prepared by the students to cheer up the children of the orphanage, like: storytelling, singing, dancing & mimicry by our students. A drawing competition was also conducted which was followed by a prize distribution ceremony. The program was concluded by distribution of gifts and sweets to the children.
ZICA’s Mira Road center in Mumbai also visited the Child Help Foundation along with the students and the center staff. The students organized a
Drawing and clay modeling workshop with the students of the foundation. Creativity has no barriers, and just needs a window of opportunity. This was manifested by the students of the foundation – they made some good art pieces that inspired the ZICA students to continue working with great passion and grit that was shown by the students who belong to the Underprivileged strata of the society.
