Toonz Academy, the Training Division of Toonz Animation Studio, recently conducted an ‘Animation & Visual Effects Seminar’ on the 29th May 2012 at Hotel Pankaj, Trivandrum. It was an interactive session with industry experts and a live demo on making of Animation Films. It also gave an idea on the career possibilities in this sector.
The seminar was basically targeted for youngsters in the age group of 16 – 35, Parents, and anybody with a passion for animation. Well known speakers like Vinod A S, National Head – Toonz Academy, Hari Varma, Chief creative officer-Toonz Animation India and Mr. P Vijayakumar – Head, Operations–Toonz Animation had an interaction with the audiences about an overview of the animation industry, Production pipeline, Key areas, Career options, Live demo, interesting snippets on History of animation, courses offered by Toonz academy, benefits and global value of pursuing a career in animation and a general idea of what to expect.
The seminar was initiated to give aspiring youngsters a good idea on the possibilities and career opportunities in the Animation & Visual Effects sector. The horizon that defines animation is now being broadened to include not only the entertainment sector, but also to non-entertainment and increasingly to telecommunications. It was more of an informative session on the available training trends in Animation and multimedia and also to stress on the importance of specializing in key areas.
Speaking to Animationxpress.com, about the seminar Mr. Vinod A.S National, Academic Head said that, “The seminar was attended by approximately 75 students along with their guardians for the Trivandrum Seminar. The experience of the entire seminar was pretty good. It’s good to see so many youngsters aiming at getting into animation. New and fresh talents are always welcome. Hopefully the audiences who attended the seminar gained knowledge about careers in animation industry, Animation Film making process and industry facts”.
Future plans for Toonz Academy is to come up with a Centre of Excellence for Animation and Visual Effects Training.
