Industry Connect Program 2013, an initiative by Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) to congregate animation enthusiasts across the city concluded effectively on May 26, 2013.It was organized at DSNR MAAC in Hyderabad. It was conducted with a view to bring together the industry experts and budding animators under one roof, thereby providing an opportunity for learning and growth.
After the successful completion of first two phases in Bangalore, over 100 students attended the third phase of ICP 2013. ICP 2013saw some interesting sessions on ‘Animation in Game Asset Design’ by Mr. Atri Dave, Sr. Technical Artist, CRYTEK gmbh, Germany, ‘Use of CG & VFX in Tollywood’ by Mr. Subhrojyoti Banerjee, Sr. VFX Artist, Makuta Studios and ‘insights on New Age media’ by Mr. Shajan Samuel, Sr. VP, MAAC. The sessions were interesting where the students interacted with the speakers to know more about new career avenues in animation, gaming & VFX.

Events like these will go a long way in helping widen the knowledge base of budding creative artists andshape up tender minds to take a firm step in their journey to hone their innate talents beyond a classroom environment”, commented Mr. Shajan Samuel, Sr. VP, MAAC.
Enthralled at the success of ICP 2013, Mr. Ram Warrier, Business Head, MAAC said, “We wanted to engage animation students with experts from the industry and gain insights about the developments in their chosen field. Gaming, Web designing, VFX all are the future of Indian animation. Citing the industry requirements, we invited artists from such upcoming fields who shared their experiences, showcased their project works and updated the students regarding the enormous amount of scope gaming & VFX industry holds.
