ViacomCBS to launch Paramount+ on 4 March

ViacomCBS has set the launch of the rebranded streaming platform Paramount+. CBS All Access will be rebranded as Paramount+ in Canada on 4 March and then evolve into an expanded offering later in the year.
It will go live in the U.S. and Latin America on 4 March, the Nordic territories on 25 March and Australia by the middle of the year.

The service will feature content from entertainment brands including Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, BET, CBS and Paramount Pictures, offering on-demand films and series as well as live news and sports.

Last year, ViacomCBS additionally announced other originals it had planned for the new service, including The Offer, a limited series about the making of The Godfather; a spy drama series Lioness created by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone); a reimagined version of VH1’s Behind the Music, which will focus on the past 40 years; The Real Criminal Minds, a true crime docuseries based on the fictional TV hit; and a revival of the comedy series The Game.

The platform will also expand on children’s programmes, including a new kids original series Kamp Koral, from Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants. It will be the subscription video-on-demand home for the The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run.

At launch, Paramount+ will offer live streaming programming, including sports and news, as well as a library of roughly 30,000 titles. The pricing has not yet been announced, but in the US, CBS All Access currently costs $5.99 per month with ads or $9.99 per month ad-free.
