Raj comics to debut SuperIndian comic series

nullCurrently in its 20th year of operations, Delhi based comic book publisher Raj Comics is launching a new comic series titled ‘SuperIndian’ by the end of this month.

Speaking exclusively to Animation ‘xpress, Raj Comics CEO Manoj Gupta said, “This holiday season we are planning to launch a new comic series SuperIndian. A lot of research went into creating this character and the storyline has been set up in an ultra modern futuristic City of India, in the year 2020. SuperIndian is a character spanning the whole wheel of time. His uniqueness is his upbringing, which is taken care of by all the big villains of our time. They themselves have taught him everything and now they have no place to hide as SuperIndian knows them inside out”

The publishing house which publishes popular titles such as Nagraj, Super Commando Dhruva and Parmanu has a strong hold in the Hindi speaking belt and has so far published more than three thousand comic titles. Around 12 separate teams of artists comprising of writers, illustrators, inkers, calligraphers and colorists work all round the year with the publisher which claims a circulation of around 80,000 copies and a readership close to 3 lakh for a given comic title.

Raj Comics plans a strong hype around SuperIndian and is creating a dedicated online presence for fans where they can download posters and other goodies.

Until recently a pure play comic book house, the publisher has now forayed into animation production by setting up a sister concern Rtoonz Animation Studios. “We have already contracted Rtoonz Animation Studio in the production of 52 episodes of animated series on our flag bearer Superhero Nagraj. Each episode is of 11 minutes duration and the first six episodes are in various stages of completion” said Gupta.

“There are also plans on binging out PC, Console and Hand-Held Games on Nagraj series, in the near future” he concluded.
