Orange Radius Arts to Launch Blind Spot at 4th Annual Indian Comic Con

4 Different Artists, 4 Different Stories, 4 Different Styles and 4 Different Sins is what Raveesh Mohan, Founder of Mumbai Based Orange Radius Arts describes about Blind Spot, a 72 pages book that will launch at 4th Annual Indian Comic Con Delhi that kick starts tomorrow.

Till date, Orange Radius Arts has launched three comic books in Parshu series titled Parshu ‘Origins’, ‘Rise of the Warrior’ and ‘Retribution’, at various Comic Con Editions.

Coming to Blind Spot, which is targeted at readers aged 14 years and above is composed with four different stories titled Cross Hair, Layers, Futile and Alive.

The book tries to delve into the inner workings of the human mind and touches upon the fact that decisions in life lie in the proverbial ‘grey area’ along with making a point that human beings intrinsically are complicated and sometimes truth actually is stranger than fiction.

Elaborating more on the story line to AnimationXpress.com, Raavesh Mohan, Writer of Blind Spot, says, “ Everyone faces numerous situations in life where he is at crossroads, deciding between what is ‘considered’ right and what seems the best way out of that situation. More often than not most of us choose the in-between route, because it takes care of the conscience and also helps us wriggle out of a situation. It is this working of the human mind that goes for the in-between route which got me excited to write stories around it.”

It has taken three months for Raveesh to write the book. Created in Photoshop and Manga Studio, the illustrations were brought out in 24 days time. Varied artists have contributed to the color treatment of this book. Layers is illustrated by Murtuza Ali, Cross Hair by Vipul Bhandari, Futile by Sanman Mohite and Nikhilesh Khatri has illustrated Alive.

“Murtuza penciled each page and then dove into coloring, there was no inking involved. It was at the coloring stage that he took the illustrations to a different level altogether. Sanman used lens flare, foggy-dusty feel to give his story an almost realistic look and feel. Vipul decided to go in for a patchy brush stroke style to give his story a noir-ish look. Nikhilesh has used excellent camera angles to make sure the illustrations are almost as good as watching it happen in real time.” Informs more
Priced at INR 180 and Blind Spot will be available from 10th Feb onwards on Flipkart and Infibeam, and Raj Comics Online Store and Amazon too.

After launching Blind Spot, Orange Radius will be launching three more books this year in Parshu and will also be launching a new title at the Bangalore Comic Con, which Raveesh feels will bring a completely new genre to the Indian Comics industry.

“Blind Spot is an effort to show the versatility that we offer to readers and to keep bringing new-age content to readers. I believe Blind Spot will pave the way for more of such ‘illustrated-collections’ (as I like to call it).” concludes, Raavesh
