In a new one-shot, the story of Shang-Chi and the potent Ten Rings will continue. In parallel with the debut of Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, writer Gene Luen Yang has led the master of kung fu through several miniseries and ongoing series. All of this culminated in the series Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings, which showed Shang-Chi in control of the Ten Rings, as Hydra and the Hand both fought for control. Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings will conclude in December, and this new age of Shang-Chi comics will come to an end in January.
Gene Luen Yang and Michael YG’s Shang-Chi: Master of the Ten Rings #1 is featured in the January 2023 Marvel solicitations. As shown on the main cover by Jim Cheung, while the hero is trapped in time, Shang-Chi will work alongside his wicked father. His evil parent is the only one who can aid him. In addition to readers seeing the conclusion of Gene Luen Yang’s Shang-Chi tale, the solicitation promises Shang-Chi to see a different side of his father.
The Game of Rings concludes in December’s Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings #6. The synopsis reads: Shang-Chi has advanced to the Game of Rings’ final round. Whoever is victorious will be the genuine Ring Keeper. But can the winner be able to bear the Rings’ dreadful secret?. One can speculate that the end of the issue will throw Shang-Chi into the timestream, where he will end up in the past with a younger version of his father.
Destin Daniel Cretton will be returning to direct the sequel of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which is currently in the works.
Shang-Chi: Master of the Ten Rings #1 will go on sale in January 2023.
