Veteran actor Michael Keaton once again will be seen wearing the signature cape and cowl in The Flash. He has signed the deal for playing the role of Batman and this time it will be for an HBO Max movie.
The actor has joined the lead cast of Batgirl, Warner Bros. and DC film feature popular hero Barbara Gordon.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 70-year-old actor will be joining the already announced cast of Grace, JK Simmons, and Brendan Fraser. The plot is kept under wraps, however, the story revolves around Barbara Gordon (Grace), the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner Jim Gordon. The movie is being directed by the duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys for Life). The movie is already in production, shooting in London.
The first look at Keaton back in the Batsuit was teased in October during DC FanDome, the online convention dedicated to all things DC. Keaton has had a complicated relationship with Batman, at points in his career distancing himself from the character. He earned an Oscar nomination for 2014’s Birdman, in which he played an actor that once starred in superhero movies.
Batgirl doesn’t have an official release date, though the film is scheduled to debut on HBO Max in 2022.
Keaton is also reprising his role in The Flash, starring Ezra Miller and will hit in theatres on 4 November 2022.
