Wolverine continues to establish himself as a character with apparently endless storytelling potential across mediums. Marvel has partnered with Sirius XM to develop an all-new scripted podcast Marvel’s Wastelanders: Wolverine.
Marvel’s Wastelanders: Wolverine is the fourth edition of Marvel’s Wastelanders podcast series following Marvel’s Wastelanders: Star-Lord, Marvel’s Wastelanders: Hawkeye, and Marvel’s Wastelanders: Black Widow.
The series is directed by Turner Hall. Michael Odmark and Daniel Brunelle have designed the sound, and the original music is given by Rhett Miller and John Burdick for the 10-episode series.
The series is based in the post-apocalyptic universe of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven’s Marvel’s Old Man Logan 2008 story. “Super-Villains did the impossible thirty years ago, they won. After assassinating the Avengers, X-Men, and practically every other Super Hero, Red Skull became President of the United States,” Marvel said on Marvel’s Wastelanders: Wolverine. Since then, a traumatised Wolverine (Robert Patrick) has drifted aimlessly in a haze of survivor’s remorse and self-loathing for his inability to defend his fellow X-Men and mutant students.
“Fans are going to lose it over Robert Patrick as Old Man Logan! You cannot stop listening to his gritty timbre, he is Wolverine and Logan’s story here will shock you to your core! From a directing standpoint, this series is epic, there will be a lot of characters, settings, and action. I can’t wait for fans to listen to this series. I hope it’ll blow your mind, break your heart, and give you something to believe in,” writer and director Jenny Hall commented on the series.
Marvel’s Wastelanders: Wolverine has exclusively launched on the SXM App and Marvel Podcasts Unlimted on Apple Podcasts. One week following their first release, episodes will be available on Pandora, Stitcher, and other major podcast sites.
