Fiege officially confirms that Marvel is heading to San Diego Comic-Con

Marvel Studios is making its return to San Diego Comic-Con.

During a press conference for Thor: Love and Thunder, Marvel Studios president and Marvel Entertainment chief creative officer Kevin Feige confirmed that Marvel Studios would be present at SDCC 2022.

Feige’s confirmation debunks an earlier report claiming that Marvel Studios was planning to sit out Comic-Con for another year.

Earlier in 2019, Feige announced the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Four slate, including the films Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Love and Thunder and Black Widow, as well as the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, What If…? and Hawkeye.

Due to coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the in-person SDCC 2020 event was cancelled. It was replaced by a virtual alternative, Comic-Con@Home. However, Marvel Studios decided not to participate in that and made the major announcement for Disney Investor 2020.

San Diego Comic-Con 2022 will take place from 21 to 24 July.
