DI Comics Releases Comic Strip – ‘The Fast and The Dubious’ -

DI Comics, a Chennai based company released its title Alien Raja’s 6th Comic Strip known as ‘The Fast and The Dubious’ on 21st January 2014. This 9 panel comic strip, digitally available on the brand’s official facebook page, targets teenagers, working professionals and young entrepreneurs between 18 to 24 years of age.

Sharing with AnimationXpress.com about the unique digital appearance of this comic strip, Surej Salim, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, DI Comics says “ ‘The Fast and The Dubious’ is infact a reflection of the people’s care-free behavior, which has been highlighted through its wide visual perspective and detailed concept.”

Alien Raja & Goofy being the lead characters, Inspector Judge Bredd is the new character who has been introduced in this strip. The storyline of this comic strip revolves around the events and reactions that occurred when Alien Raja and Goofy set out on a drive in the Utopian City.

Vibrant shades of reds, blues, greens, greys and blacks have been used to make this strip even more visually appealing. To bring out the Utopian location setup, the DI artists designed close ups of the hover craft, crash scenes, exteriors and the city life. Describing about the look and feel of this comic strip, Surej futher mentions “This strip is like a movie as it includes several fluid shots and cinematic angles. In- depth detailing of the Utopian world infact keeps the readers entertained. “

In order to conceptualize this comic strip, the DI team analysed what’s going around, current affairs as well as most trending topic. After keen observation, they decided to translate it in the form of thumbnails, which makes this comic strip interesting.
Vineed Ritchie (Artist), Raunaq Mangottil (Social Media Manager), Meshach Thomas (Concepts Team Lead), Anurag Singh( Marketing), Sudeep Menon- Script Writer, Manish Kishore (Co-Founder & CEO) Surej Salim were the comic artists who brainstormed this concept of ‘The Fast and The Dubious’.
