The CW has left its fans awestruck with the release of the first trailer for the seventh season of The Flash on 1 February 2021, teasing Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) faceoff with the new Mirror Master. The wait is almost over as the series will debut on 2 March 2021. The Flash is returning to the airwaves next month!
The trailer gives fans of The Flash a new look of the upcoming season of the popular series. It begins with Barry feeling the pressure to strike a showdown against Mirror Mistress with his speed still capped at one per cent. It focuses on how although Barry is losing his speed, he’s gaining the help of his friend, Killer Frost.
Later in the trailer, Barry appears to open a portal to the Mirrorverse, priming the way for him to reunite with his beloved Iris. Fans can only wait for the release of the series to find out if he succeeds.
Kicking off with the three remaining episodes of season six, which had to be postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic, the new season seven trailer has left the audiences in anticipation.
The Flash season six also had a number of notable plot developments. The first part of the season introduced Bloodwork, who infested Barry before turning into a grotesque monster. Of course, the season led into a massive event merging the worlds of The Flash and Supergirl. After the Crisis, the season dove into the Mirrorverse, trapping Iris in a completely different dimension. For a number of episodes, a mirror duplicate of Iris was seen who was working for Eva McCulloch. Eobard Thawne returned, fighting Barry inside the mind of Nash Wells, and Gorilla Grodd made a comeback as a redeemed antagonist. Fans are eagerly waiting for season seven, which will finally reveal the showdown with the real Godspeed. However, before that, Barry will have to deal with Eva and rescue Iris out of the Mirrorverse.
The official synopsis for The Flash‘s Season seven reads:
After a thrilling cliffhanger last season which saw the new Mirror Master (Efrat Dor) victorious and still-at-large in Central City, The Flash must regroup in order to stop her and find a way to make contact with his missing wife, Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton). With help from the rest of Team Flash, which includes superheroes Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Nash Wells (Tom Cavanagh), as well as the Flash’s adoptive father Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), Meta-Attorney Cecile Horton (Danielle Nicolet), tough cub reporter Allegra Garcia (Kayla Compton) and brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk (Brandon McKnight)… Flash will ultimately defeat Mirror Master. But in doing so, he’ll also unleash an even more powerful and devastating threat on Central City: one that threatens to tear his team—and his marriage—apart.
The Flash returns on Tuesday, 2 March at 8 pm on the CW in the US.
