‘Better Call Saul’ animated spinoff ‘Slippin’ Jimmy’ is now premiering on AMC+

Slippin’ Jimmy from the world of Better Call Saul is a six-part animated series that revolves around the adventures of young Jimmy McGill and his childhood friends in Chicago, Illinois. The show is a family-friendly prequel to the bloody original series and is now streaming on AMC+. The OTT platform released a key art from the series featuring Jimmy and his friend Marco Pasternark in school uniform before they became a team of unstoppable con artists. Apart from the duo, the key art also showcases an authority figure in Jimmy’s school.

The story will be told in 70’s cartoon era style and each episode is an ode to particular movie genres, from spaghetti westerns and Buster Keaton to The Exorcist. Slippin’ Jimmy focuses on the duo’s initial encounters with the law as they hone their coning skills long before becoming Saul Goodman.

AMC has announced three animated Better Call Saul spinoffs, including Slippin’ Jimmy. Cooper’s Bar, an animated spinoff starring Rhea Seehorn from Better Call Saul as Kim Wexler, is also planned to premiere this Spring. Finally, Better Call Saul Employee Training returns for a fourth season this summer. Previous seasons of the show focused on employee training at Los Pollos Hermanos, security training at Madrigal Electromotive, and ethics training with Kim Wexler. Fans will now be able to learn how to make TV advertisements in the style of Saul Goodman thanks to the new series.

Rick and Morty animator Starburns has produced Slippin’ Jimmy and the show is written by Better Call Saul writers Ariel Levine and Kathleen Williams-Foshee.
